Kensal Rise's Zute Lightfoot made the following beautiful 2023 video of Ellie Southwood and local run  coach/Gladstone parkrun Director Sophie Barnard's training for Blenheim Palace Triathlon with Kensal Tri.......

In this, Ellie - who is blind and did her first full Triathlon in 2023 - talks about the challenge and how cycling and swimming in particular presented.

Sophie also talks about her apprehensions at first - she is not a trained Tri coach but a run coach - but the many joys of being a Guide and making this sort of adventure possible for others. ​

Ellie & Sophie raised £2,000 to help local refugees through Salusbury World & The Lexi Cinema via bit.ly/TwoTryTri.

It is regrettable that Ellie has been the ONLY blind person doing Blenheim Tri over the past few years - despite thousands taking part.

 

It's a better story where it comes to guides being available for running, including Gladstone parkrun.
