You can run - but can you persuade a neighbour to try?
Hundreds of people in our area love running but we know many hundreds more might need some encouragement to give it a go?

Can you help us persuade a neighbour to come join us over the next few Sundays?
We'll walk/run and chat and nobody will get left behind.

You just need a pair of comfortable trainers, no fancy kit.
We've just completed a ten week trial - and everyone on our survey said they loved it!
So we're continuing through the summer!

Earn your movie reward & treat someone less fortunate!
We'll also treat beginner runners to a free cinema ticket! Or discounted Lexi Annual Membership.

You collect six stamps over ten weeks on our "Lexi Run Crew Loyalty Card" to earn these!

Our beginners will ALSO be 'paying forward' by earning a cinema ticket for someone less fortunate.

This is because the Lexi is so much more than a cinema - it supports local people through brilliant groups such as Salusbury World, our local refugee charity.

Huge thanks for helping us spread the love of running to Queens Park Harriers, Kensal Tri, Walk2Run, Queens Park Social Run.

They provide our volunteer qualified run leaders each week.

And massive thanks also to brilliant local sponsors Beyond Health of Salusbury Rd & Steeps One Shot for making the first batch of cinema tickets available.

You can read more about the Lexi's Community Programming here.

Huge thanks to Alex and Jamie for being our Run Leaders......and to so many (over 60) people for coming the first week....
What's the run like?

"I just wanted to say how much I absolutely love the Lexi Run Club. I’ve lived in London for over 10 years and this is the first time I’ve genuinely felt part of a real community. It’s such a special thing that has been created and I can’t thank you enough for it.

Every Sunday is something I look forward to - not just for the running, but for the people, the energy and the atmosphere. The organisation is great too: friendly, inclusive, and effortlessly well-run. I am very thankful for the team who organised this uplifting and welcoming club!

It’s rare to find something that brings people together in such a meaningful and consistent way. I’ve met lovely people, pushed myself more than I expected, and felt a sense of belonging that I didn’t realise I was missing.

...thank you for the experience so far. It’s made a real difference".

Thank you, it's been great to meet people in the local area I woudn't otherwise have come across, London being what it is.
It's been great to connect and also find a way to enjoy running-via chatting to people- when it's never held interest for me before (I do martial arts/dance classes for exercise). The leadership was great, thank you all for giving your time to this. Very pleased I walked past a random poster on a tree one Saturday, and turned up the next day!

Thank you so much for the Lexi Run Crew initiative. It’s given me a jump start to getting out there again.

"this little run has taken quite a few people out of their comfort zone and connected them with other people in a city where it is easy to feel very lonely. Thanks to you and Jamie and all the running coaches - I am very grateful.

I love it. I think its fabulous. I speak to different people each week who say the same. They say its part of their weekly routine now and they don't want it to end. I love the fact that its open to everyone whether they're seasoned runners or absolute beginners. And I love that people are getting out and exercising!!

I want to say thank you for a wonderful opportunity to run with your team! I loved that all people have been included, welcomed and got the choice of comfortable phase which they could do :) I took a few warm up exercises for my own running practice...

it has been great to run together as a family, and the cinema ticket was a key motivator for the kids

SPONSORS?

We are also looking for sponsors to help us run the initiative (pun intended) & to help us offer the free cinema tickets for refugee communities in our area.
Please contact us if you are a local business or organisation interested in supporting local healthy living, community building, refugee support and our marvellous Lexi Cinema!

Fancy a 'Couch to 5km' with us?

Listening to runner feedback, we're aiming to link the run with a free Couch to 5km option which we will run on a Thursday evening at 6.45pm with Queen's Park Harriers.
Please email us if you're interested in a place at this ten week course through the summer.
