About Us

Been hesitant to get fit because you're a bit shy to join a group?

Kensal Tri is NOT a club or an already-tight group.

We're a hotch-potch of different neighbours - which includes lots of us from Queens Park, Harlesden, Willesden & Kilburn!

We're 4-74 years old, all kinds of shapes/sizes and levels of fitness.

Over 300 of us have come together over the past four years to enjoy a bit of exercise, meet new people and, many of us, to also take part in sporting events like Blenheim Triathlon.

Most of us didn't know one another before we started training!

Our simple goal is to bring lots of us together to:

- get fitter, meet new people and make a difference locally

You don't have to pay anything to join us for some runs or cycles or swims and you don't have to do an event. Fancy giving it a try?

Blenheim Triathlon - Sat 3rd June, 2023

Blenheim Triathlon is one of the most popular nationally-organised events with over 7,000 people taking part.

But for the past five years our Kensal Tri neighbours have taken the biggest team!

Over 300 near-strangers joined-up with our team to do the events there in 2021 and 2022 - and we want to double these numbers in 2023!

You can read all about us here - the Kilburn Times actually liked this so much they joined us, with a Relay team in 2021!

The events on the day are MUCH easier than it might sound - for example, you could enter just to do a 5.4km run (Relay) and walk some of it!

The options are below:

You'll love - and always remember - your great day at Blenheim.

But the fun is not just about Blenheim (or the Dorney event we are also entering on July 2nd) - it's about coming together over the next few weeks.

The idea is we'll buddy up whenever you'd like to join us to do a few local gentle runs, cycles and swims with people of similar abilities - you can do as little or as much as you like.

We'll be taking advantage of the kindnesses of local personal trainers, gyms and great local clubs such as the Queens Park Harriers, Willesden & Hampstead Tri Clubs. Read about this here

You can also learn with us how to swim better with the experts at Swimming Nature at the Maqam Centre and also with instructors in open-water over at Denham and Merchant Taylor lakes. Meet the Trainers here - they are all kindly providing free or discounted training..

Read about the training last year by clicking on the Kilburn Times article below or by clicking here!

Supporting local charities

You don't have to fundraise to take part if you'd just like to enjoy the local training.

But our local small charities have been struggling to stay open after Covid and we'd LOVE it if you do want to create a fundraising profile to show solidarity and support.

You can pick any local charity of your choice.

And we deliberately set the fundraising bar MUCH lower than for most events as we know you don't want too much pressure.

We know from past years you will find it easy to fundraise for Triathlon because friends will be impressed by what you're doing - and we will help you raise the £100.

Here are some of the charities who took part in 2021 and/or 2022!
